Spenghead is a new project by UK’s Septic Insurgent, and for once, this change of name is reflected by a radical shift in music as well. If Septic Insurgent is better known for his very heavy, dark and dirty dubstep, the two “Old Teeth” presented here are much tamer and friendlier. While the digital A side might still be a rather massive, syncopated and dancefloor-friendly break / dubstep tune, the B one is a more delicate, melodic and flowing mid-tempo d’n’b affair. What has been lost in anger and violence has been gained in production value.
